I'm learning that language development comes in fits and starts, with one new word making a brief appearance never to be heard again while another slightly older word won't go away.
Ali continues to say "That?" as she points to various objects, and has stopped saying her first word, "cat".
On Saturday, however, we were sitting and I was helping her pet Tamlin, when Ali said, "meow." Could I get her to say it again? Not a chance...
