Playing Catch-up: With the Kids, And Life...

Hello everyone,

We apologize for not having posted anything in the past weeks, but got caught up in a burst of activity and new skills that stole our attention. Here's a quick rundown of what has been happening:

Ethan:

1. He has gotten MUCH better at eating. The past couple of days have seen an increase in the amount of food he has taken orally and Lisa and I have been trying to keep up, which is a wonderful problem to have.
2. Ethan's mobility has also drastically improved. He can pull himself up to standing, as well as lower himself down. Although he still butt-scoots across the hardwood floors, if we tell him to crawl, he remembers he can actually do it, and then switches. His cruising has also improved, especially at his train table (thanks to Mom's great garage-sale sleuthing,) and alongside the whirlpool in our bathroom (he loves to start at one end and work his way down to hopefully pull on one of the water faucet handles, but never quite makes it all the way hmmmm...)
3. We've fought past a minor viral infection which had us back on the oxygen, but now that it has passed, we've been trialing him off his O2 regularly and he has been doing great. He even slept well during a nap, without beeping off once, and we came to later find out that his prongs were resting on his nose for most of the nap!
4. His babbling and sign language skills have also developed greatly this past month. Words are still on the horizon, but along with Ali, we feel he's making steps closer to one day talking our ears off (plus, I need some competition).
5. He's a great kid with a wonderfully mischievous smile and a great laugh!
6. He's now crying so I will continue with what Allison is doing soon!
