Progress

We had a good doctor's appointment today. Ethan's co2 was 72, so not too bad. His weight is up to 17 lbs 14.6 oz. We looked at his growth chart today and it is pretty much a straight line up toward the 'normal' growth curve. Dr N was happy with his oral intake, which has been generally over 100 ml every day. Excellent for him! On his birthday we will go down to 1.5 ml of prelone (his steroid) every other day. What a great present! Oh yes, and my favorite part is the replacement of the g-tube button. His old button was getting leaky - very annoying! So we just deflated the balloon that keeps it in, pulled the old one out, and put the new one in. Simple... except that it was a mess. Ethan was mad, and thus tensing his tummy. You can guess the rest. Dr N summed it up. It's like getting thrown up on without the need for the middle man (the esophagus etc.) Sigh, the things you don't think about until you have a child with a gtube!
