Allison's thirst for knowledge...

As many of you know, Ali's favorite (and only) two words are "What's that?" She says it all the time as she points to various things to learn their names.

One night, she woke up screaming and crying around midnight, and there was no obvious reason why. I held her and rocked her to alleviate whatever was troubling her. As she was arching away from me and swaying side to side in abject sorrow, she stopped mid-cry to ask "What's that?" as she pointed to the night light. I said, "That's a night light" and she went right back to crying. I was almost crying from laughing so hard...
