Yesterday we took the kids in for their 15 mo appointment. All is well. Ali is perfectly caught up and healthy. Ethan's breathing is doing really well. We thought about reducing his steroids, but then decided that it's Ethan so we'd better move slow. So, we stay on 3ml every other day for 3 more weeks. Sigh.
Now we come to the title of the post. The kids got 3 vaccinations yesterday. MMR, Chickenpox, and H1N1. Today at lunch I noticed what I thought might be a couple of hives on Ali's jaw line, but nowhere else. It went away by the next time I looked. Tonight we were of course running late on bedtime. I got Ali undressed for a bath and she had little hives everywhere... :( Doc said it's hard to tell what it might be from. Allergic reaction to something. She didn't seem bothered by them at all. So, after a sprint trip to HyVee for benadryl all is well. Hopefully it will stay that way.
Has Ali eaten eggs? The H1N1 vaccine is made in eggs and so is the influenza A vaccine so Anne can't have either of those.
ReplyDeleteThe first time I gave her eggs she got a little rash on her face, but I think now it was a fluke. Ali eats eggs all the time now with no problem. Hopefully this will just be a minor reaction to the vaccines.
