So much to report!

Apparently it has been way too long since we have blogged. There are lots of things to report.

Most exciting is that we are trying Ethan off of the steroids! At his last appointment his co2 was 54. His O2 is still at .4 Liters per minute (1/2 way between 1/2 and 1/4). We haven't noticed any increased oxygen needs or any other issues, so we are hoping for another low number at the next appointment on Monday.

We actually came about the axing of the steroid because we were on the phone with the doc when Ethan's g-tube button started pulling tricks again on the 21st. Once again, just as we were about to leave to get it looked at it fixed itself. We are pretty much still in 'wait and see' mode. We can't do anything about it until we know what we are dealing with. Unfortunately whatever it is is being quite elusive. Unfortunately following this recurrence of the button issue Ethan has starting throwing up again now and then. Often it is caused by gagging on some food (probably a cracker - his new FAVE!) that gets stuck in the center of his tongue. We don't 'count' those, but sometimes for no reason at all.

Other fun things:
Ali the climber. Her new favorite thing to do is to climb into the rocking chair in her room and read a book. Super cute! I am saying "feet on the floor" an awful lot these days. She tries to be quite helpful these days, sharing a few toys now and then and pushing Ethan forward. She is trying to be helpful and push him forward, even though it doesn't really work. She is learning new signs, like "grape" and she is finally starting to make more word-like sounds. Na na (banana), being her favorite. Ali has two molars coming in. We missed them because she skipped the other front teeth and went straight to popping out molars. Ethan has too many teeth to count. He still has a couple of holes on the sides, but there shouldn't be too many more to come.

Ethan's favorite new trick is that he comes scooting after you carrying a book. I'm going to have to catch it on video. (He's very persistent about it. He nearly throws the book at you!) I'll include this little video of his early scooting days instead.



As you might be able to see in the video, both kids need haircuts! Ali had her first bang trim a little while back, but Ethan has not had a haircut yet. It is definitely time. He is getting quite a mullet! Perhaps it will be a project for this week.
