Recently Ali has been very interested in Ethan's poop. Every time I change his poopy diaper she comes over and points to the poop. I taught her the sign for poop the other day. (It's pretty hilarious. Wrap the fingers/thumb of one hand around the thumb of the other hand. Then pull out the thumb! Eeeew!)
This afternoon Ali came up to me tugging on her diaper with a very intent look on her face. I didn't really think it possible, I asked, "Do you need to go potty?" She ran to the bathroom! I took her diaper off, and it was poopy. Cool, she just told me that she needed her diaper changed. I grabbed the potty and she sat right down and asked for a drink. I've only sat her on the potty a couple of times, so I was pretty amazed. I got her a drank and some books. We spent the next five or so minutes reading books in the bathroom... with Ethan supervising of course. She didn't do anything else, but she certainly seemed proud of herself!
It is possible! Don't let anyone tell otherwise. Anne had been pooping on the potty since she was 10 months old. Peeing took a little longer but not having to change poopy diapers is wonderful!
