Allison is growing strong and will continue to "nuzzle" to practice breastfeeding. Her other goal in the coming days is to regulate her own body temperature. Once she handles that, she'll be moved to an open-air crib, which will be good. She's stable enough now that Lisa and I can reach in and pick her up whenever we want, provided that we watch out for her monitor wires.
Ethan had a good night last night, as his PDA valve in his heart continues to close. The doctors feel that the best course of action is to continue to let him close the valve on his own, without surgically intervening, since he has been very successful at breathing with only a canula. This is very, very welcome news as Lisa and I both breathed a little easier when learning of this. Sandy, one of his nurses, is going to try again to put in a PICC line (IV) into Ethan's arm so that he won't have to be "stuck" so many times with a needle for all of his tests.
