7.19.08

Yesterday was a big day for Ethan, but then again, what day hasn't been? He successfully had a PICC line inserted into his left arm so that he won't have to have so many injections for tests, labs, draws, and the like. After that, he got to move into his sister's room and get a bath for the first time. The poor guy was wiped out, as you can see, and got no sympathy from his sister as she slept through everything until it was feeding time.

The biggest and best news of the day yesterday is that Ethan looks like he won't have to have heart surgery to close his PDA valve! Doctor Rosenblum informed us that with Ethan getting stronger at breathing on his own, and the fact that his PDA valve has been closing naturally, he feels that surgery is not needed at this time and that we should just let nature take it's course. Lisa and I completely agree, and are relieved that there won't be any trips to Iowa City in the near future for the three of us.

Allison continues to do well at nuzzling, as her food intake continues to grow. We spent today (Saturday) just hanging out together and growing stronger. We really enjoy having them together in one room.
