Two hands really are better than one, it seems. Ethan, our irate little boy, continued his battle to breathe better with less help from the CPAP machine, as well as to wean himself off of the pain medication Fentanyl.

He had a good morning and early afternoon, but became agitated and restless from about 1 o'clock on. I reached in to his bed with both hands and just placed them on him, giving a more secure hold to help alleviate his restlessness. It worked; I told him about the mother and four baby raccoons that swung from our bird feeder a couple of days ago, to how ridiculous it was that the Cubs could lose in 12 innings, and he calmed down and slept right through it all...a normal reaction to most of my stories.

Lisa's mom Lu Ann and her husband Mark came through the cheddar curtain from their home in Sparta, Wisconsin, to see the twins. Lu Ann got to hold Allison which was fun to see and then we went out to dinner to further catch up.

Alli (I think that's the nickname spelling we're going with,) did even better today than yesterday with her feedings as she became more consistent with all of the steps involved. Lisa is now feeding Alli twice a shift (7 to 7, and then 7 to 7). As Alli grows stronger and graduates to "on-demand" feedings, we'll spend our nights at the hospital until she is ready to come home.

Here is Ethan sporting his new 'infant cpap' with the stylish skater cap. Or perhaps he's ready to scuba dive?
