Refrigeration

Ethan had a fever again this morning. We really need to figure out what is going on with these fevers. But then he had a fabulously calm day. He has been smiling at the nurses all day. He did have a couple of smiles for mom and dad too. :) Oddly, his suck training was a little more disorganized today. But, he did manage to get a little milk out while nursing!

My day, on the other hand, was not calm or organized in any way. It started with Alli's Synagis shot. (To protect her from the evil RSV virus that can land kids in the hospital on a vent!) She cried, but then smiled. Ha! Then I was getting ready to go visit Ethan when I opened the freezer. Everything in there was melted. Ugh. Thankfully Alli was having a post-shot long nap. So I cleaned that up and called Jenny to freak out for a minute. She was wonderful enough to come right over (THANKS!!!!) and watch Alli so I could go out and buy another fridge. Ugh again. Thankfully I had done some research online when the fridge started making a terrible vibrating/buzzing sound. As it turns out, Sears has no selection of 'middle of the road' refrigerators. I ended up ordering the one that I had seen online. But, they had a better price in the store so it was worth it in the end. As all of this was going on I missed a PC customer who was supposed to meet me at the hospital to pick up some products. So now I needed to deliver that. Somehow I made it to St. Luke's in time for Ethan's 2pm feeding. Wow.

It's a good thing that I bought a new refrigerator because I came home tonight to a warm refrigerator as well. So, all of you folks in the warmer climes, there are benefits to living in Iowa! I have a wonderful walk-in cooler where my food is safely stashed. It's so big that we put the cars in there too. (Yes, garages were actually designed to hold cars...)
