Sorry to leave you all hanging on that last blog! Ethan is generally doing much better now. Dr. Barden just told me, "Considering where we've been, we're on the right path." He also said that all of his labs and levels are good right now. That's always refreshing to hear.
Saturday night Dr. Rosenblum suggested that it was time that Ethan had a course of steroids to help his lungs develop. They should help him to see significant improvement. They did warn me to expect some decline at the end of the course, sometimes a little, sometimes a lot. Hopefully we'll make enough gain that a fall back insignificant.
Sunday I had a PC show. (Yeah, it was a $1000show!! That was worth it.) I took the day off and didn't visit the hospital. It's getting to be a really long marathon of visiting, so it was good to rest even though it was hard. Oh yes, and Nourdine called in the morning to say that Ethan had extabated himself. Amazingly he's doing well on cpap.
So, here we are. Back on cpap. he hates it as much as ever. He has been fussy and not sleeping. :( We're just hoping for continued improvement!
