A quick update today...
Ethan is still doing well. He's a little more lively today, which is actually good to see. His CO2 was 75 or so, so they are holding steady on the vent settings. Not turning him down, but not turning him up. He got another blood transfusion today, which should help. (More red blood cells to carry oxygen and co2. Very common procedure for preemies.) Up until this point he has been getting transfusions from one bag of blood from a single donor. Well, this blood expired recently. They actually called the donor to see if he/she would go in and donate more specifically for Ethan! Turns out that this donor is currently sick. :( So, he has to have a second donor. This new person donates frequently, so it should be easy to get more if needed.
The moral of the story, donate blood whenever you can! ESPECIALLY if you are O negative. I'm not sure why, but they are giving O- even though they obviously know Ethan's blood type by now. I think they always give O- to preemies.
Alli is doing better today. Way less spitting up, although she did get Chris pretty good. She LOVES her milk and gulps it down as fast as she can. That definitely makes for a spitty baby!
