Who knew a little boy could get so dirty without leaving his bed? I was holding Ethan today and was totally grossed out by how stinky he was. Sorry to be gross... but he has some nasty folds in his neck that collect lots of icky stuff. We'll leave it at that. Nurse Jenn and I tossed him in the tub and scrubbed him down! To be fair, Alli gets an icky neck too (boy does she have folds!), but it's much harder to get at Ethan's with his tube etc. He's all clean now. :) His hair is really cute and fuzzy now when it's clean. And it's much lighter than it was. I took a picture, but haven't uploaded it yet. I'll post it soon. I also noticed today that he's getting a few flecks of brown in his eyes like his daddy.
Ethan still has some diarrhea and some spitting up. They still think it's a virus or something related to his recent round of antibiotics. It should run its course, but they reduced his calories to help reduce the workload on his gut. Hopefully they'll be able to get him back to 27 calories/oz so he can get back to growing. :) He's doing pretty good on his current vent settings, so they're just letting him hang out for a day or two to get used to it before they try to wean some more.
